Robert Corri Duty, 73 of Vernon, Florida Passes on April 20, 2022

Robert Corri Duty, 73, of Vernon, Florida passed away on April 20, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born on September 28, 1948 in Pie, West Virginia to John Harmon Duty and Thelma Keen, coming from Whitesburg KY in 1961 after his father retired from the coal mines.

Robert was a graduate of Vernon High School.

Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Army where he served in Vietnam as a Sergeant in the 1st Air Calvary. Robert was an avid hunter who enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all of family and friends.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, John and Thelma Duty, brothers William Russell Duty, Arthur Taswell Duty and Walter Edward Duty, and sisters Peggy Seaman and Mary Louise Duty.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Elizabeth Duty, brother Harry Duty (Donna) and sister Betty Bromberg of Vernon, FL, daughters, Merisha Harvey (Everett) of Vernon, FL, Carrie Brooks (Kenneth) of Panama City, FL, Trista Armstrong (Leif) of Greenhead, FL, sons Julian Robert Duty, Gage Weston Duty, Trenton Charles Duty and Wesley Allen Kelly, all of Vernon, FL. Grandchildren Michael Ruschmeier, Nikolas Aaron Ruschmeier, Joshua Aaron Cox, Wyatt Everett Harvey, Caitlyn Maye Harvey, Sarah Kelly, Wesley Allen Kelly, Jr., and Alicia Marie Kelly and great-granddaughters Luna Cox and Salem Cox.

Memorialization will be by cremation with Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
