On Monday, April 25, 2022, Officers with the Chipley Police Department apprehended a wanted fugitive. Chance Spencer, 23, of Caryville was arrested Monday afternoon, after fleeing a Chipley Police Officer who attempted to take him into custody.
Spencer was arrested without incident after being located hiding in a residential shed close to Brickyard Road.
The assistance of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol was instrumental in the apprehension of Spencer who was wanted out of Holmes County for Child Neglect and Fleeing and Eluding charges.
Spencer was booked into the Washington County Jail for the out of county warrants as well as new charges of Resisting and Officer without Violence, Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon and Introduction of Contraband.
