The Walton County, Florida Sheriff’s Office has advised that the theft of catalytic converters is at an all-time high.

More than a dozen catalytic converters were stolen over the weekend in Walton County. Some from businesses, some from residences.
 
A catalytic converter is a critical component of your car’s exhaust system and can cost up to $4,000 to replace.
 
Thieves target this part because it contains expensive metals, has a street value of up to $250, and removal can take LESS THAN ONE MINUTE.
