By | May 3, 2022

The Law Enforcement Academy at Florida Panhandle Technical College in Chipley, Florida utilized the EMT ambulance simulator and supplies to practice the practical exercises which are required to pass the first aid block of training on the week of April 30, 2022.

Students climbed in the back of the simulator and performed CPR as well as splinting and bandaging while the simulator was in motion.

Students performed practical techniques on a manikin that responds verbally to what the students are doing as well as records CPR performance data to ensure that the students are giving adequate breaths and compressions.

The manikin simulates breathing so students can check for adequate rise and fall of the chest.

Students experienced the sounds of the siren and simulated radio traffic as the simulator moved from left to right as well as in a forward and back motion.

In many instances law enforcement officers will assist EMS in the field with patients as well as driving the ambulance to the hospital while EMS works the patient.
