Longtime Vernon, Florida resident and honoree Alvin Brown passed this week.
On November 11, 2019, the City of Vernon, Florida commemorated Veteran’s Day at the Vernon Community Center, adjacent to Vernon City Hall, at 1:30 PM, with a celebratory luncheon for local veterans, including Mr. Brown, who was honored at the dedication of the Shady Grove Ball Fields on Hwy 79 in Vernon, as a mentor to many upcoming ballplayers in the Vernon area.
Mr. Brown’s funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at 2PM in the Vernon, Florida High School Gymnasium.
