Proactive Patrol Leads Jackson County, Florida Deputy to Kentucky Fugitive with Multiple Charges

By | July 19, 2022

On Monday, July 18, 2022, at approximately 2:00 p.m. a deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) was proactively patrolling the Dellwood area when a vehicle was observed with an obscured temporary tag.

A traffic stop was initiated, and it was discovered that the temporary tag had been altered and
the correct, expired tag was located inside the vehicle.

A warrants check revealed that the driver, Cobin Alexander Burton, was wanted out of Warren
County, Kentucky for Child Abuse and second-degree Robbery.

Burton was taken into custody for being a Fugitive From Justice and is being extradited back to
Kentucky.

Sheriff Edenfield is proud of the JCSO team for their commitment to proactively patrolling our
community to keep it safe.

“We will not allow people to come into our county who are seeking to commit criminal activity
and I will continue to promote active patrol to locate these individuals,” he said.
