Bonnie Lou Strause, 78 of Chipley, passed from this on July 22, 2022 at her home.
Bonnie was born October 16, 1943 in Northhampton, Pennsylvania to Arthur and Ruth Parsons Cornelius. A resident of the Florida Panhandle for the previous 27 years since coming from Mississippi, Bonnie was an instrumental part of the beginning of Ebro Greyhound Park Poker Room, where she worked as the Poker Room Manager. She enjoyed spending time crafting and playing bingo with her friends. Bonnie loved her family dearly and will be sorely missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Ruth Cornelius; son: David Strause; daughter: Patty Buffi; brother: Clair Cornelius.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Dickert of Chipley, Florida; son: James Strause of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren: Jason Dickert, David Strause Jr., Laura Kotran, Joseph Buffi, Rebecca Strause, Liam Strause; great grandchildren: Kayla Dickert, Logan Dickert, Wyatt Kotran, Finn Strause, Brynne Buffi; aunts, cousins, and loved ones.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorialization is by cremation with Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida in charge of arrangements.
