Washington County, Florida Emergency Operations Advises of Traffic Disruptions in Washington County Over the Weekend

Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Washington County, Florida as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.

Washington County:

  • State Road (S.R.) 77 Wausau Possum Day Parade Between Glen Avenue and Fourth Avenue – S.R. 77 will be closed from Glen Avenue to Fourth Avenue Saturday, Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for the annual Possum Day Parade. Law enforcement will be on site to assist with traffic control.
  • S.R. 77 from Bay County Line to North of Moss Hill Road  There will be intermittent lane restrictions on S.R. 77 just north of Crystal Lake Drive in Washington County for approximately .25 miles from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8 to Friday, Aug. 12 as crews remove guardrail for future roadwork. Flaggers and advanced warning signage will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
  • S.R. 77 Resurfacing from Brickyard Road to South Boulevard – Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures and shifts during sidewalk construction as equipment and workers enter and exit the roadway.

All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
