This Wednesday morning, August 10, 2022, the National Hurricane Center continues to monitor a tropical wave located several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.

The tropical wave continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms and some gradual development of this system is still possible over the next few days.

However, environmental conditions are forecast to become less favorable by this weekend.

This system is expected to move westward to west-southwestward at 15 to 20 mph across the tropical Atlantic during the next several days.

It has a low (20 percent) chance of formation in the next 48 hours and a low (30 percent) chance in the next 5 days.
