Reports of a suspicious man sitting in the parking lot of a convenience store led to the arrest of a Chipley man identified as 38-year-old Carlton Chance Harrell.
Washington County Sheriff’s office responded to a convenience store in Wausau, just before 8 a.m., on August 21st after receiving complaints that a suspicious person was sitting in their vehicle in the parking lot.
Arriving on scene, deputies observed a vehicle with the horn going off every few seconds. Located inside the vehicle was a male subject later identified as Harrell, sitting in the vehicle going in and out of consciousness, hitting his head on the horn. Deputies requested EMS.
During a search, deputies located a green container with what later field tested positive for methamphetamine, a clear baggie containing marijuana in Harrell’s pocket, a cigarette container with a clear plastic baggie containing several illegal pills and several containers of medical marijuana.
Harrell was cleared by EMS before being arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was booked on the charges of possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of marijuana, 2 counts felony possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, felony trafficking of a controlled substance and driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
