National Hurricane Center Observing Tropical Wave off Coast of Africa on Monday, September 12, 2022

This Monday, September 12, 2022, a tropical wave located just off the west coast of Africa is producing an area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
 
Environmental conditions appear only marginally favorable, and any development of this wave should be slow to occur while it moves westward or west-northwestward across the eastern tropical Atlantic through the end of the week.
 
It has a near zero chance of formation during the next 48 hours and a low (20 percent) chance in the next 5 days.
 
In Central Tropical Atlantic:
A tropical wave located midway between the west coast of Africa and the Windward Islands is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
 
Some slow development of this system is possible over the next several days while it moves generally westward to west-northwestward over the central tropical Atlantic and approaches the Windward Islands by the end of the week.
 
It has a near zero chance of formation during the next 48 hours and a low (20 percent) chance in the next 5 days.
