Locally, Florida Panhandle Technical College in Chipley, Florida recently joined with the 28 technical colleges in Florida to celebrate the second anniversary of ‘Get There’.

Florida’s Career and Technical Education enrollment is at an all-time high, with over 380,00 Postsecondary students currently enrolled statewide, and the enrollment at Florida Panhandle Technical College has been robust over the past few years.

Florida’s Workforce Initiative, ‘Get There’, launched on September 24, 2020, with the goal of promoting postsecondary career and technical education opportunities, celebrated two years last month.

With the goal of promoting postsecondary career and technical education opportunities, the program partnered with the 28 district technical colleges and the 48 institutions within the Florida College System, creating a unified message and brand across the state’s workforce education system.

Since the release of the campaign, the state has seen remarkable success in promoting the ‘Get There’ Initiative. In 2020-21, the state had more than 772,000 K-12 CTE students and currently has over 380,000 postsecondary CTE students enrolled—the highest in the state’s history.

In partnership with the Florida Chamber of Commerce Foundation and CareerSource Florida, we have also launched Future of Work Florida, a new initiative to galvanize support for Career and Technical Education among businesses, parents, grandparents and students.
