Charles Buford Williams, 81, was born in Holmes County, Florida, March 7, 1941 to Lois and Vassie Williams.
He passed away November 8, 2022 in his home.
He was preceded in death by immediate family members, sister Dorothy Williams Everett, sister Velma, brother Cecil Von Williams, and an infant brother. He is survived by his brother, Williamette Williams (Helen) and many nephews and nieces.
Buford graduated from Holmes County High School where he was an outstanding football, basketball, and baseball player. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and water skiing with friends. Buford and Sue Pennington were married their senior year of high school and celebrated over 60 years of marriage together.
Buford retired from the Florida State Transportation Department and served in the National Guard. He also became a Minister and served the community as Pastor in several churches in the area.
The most important decision a person will ever make is when they repent and by faith accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, a decision Buford made many, many years ago.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 17, 2022, at the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Bonifay, FL, FL-79, Bonifay, FL 32425, with Reverend John Y. Chance officiating.
Arrangements and services are under the direction of Peel Funeral Home.
He was dearly loved and will truly be missed. Thank you for your prayers.
