Linda Sue Spann Helms, 71 of Leonia, Florida Passes on November 20, 2022

Linda Sue Spann Helms of Leonia, FL passed away November 20, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 71.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Rodd Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Leonia Baptist Church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and last until service time.

Linda was born August 8, 1951 in DeFuniak Springs, FL to the late Daniel Raford and Margaret Verlyndol Smith Spann. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing, beautiful flowers and growing vegetables. Linda was employed at Van Heusen in Geneva, AL for many years until their closing and later retired from the FL Department of Corrections. She was always a hard worker, both in and out of the home, but always made time to love and laugh with her friends and family, usually gathered around the house enjoying her masterful southern cooking.

Linda is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 20 years, Robert Windell “Robby” Helms of Leonia, FL; two daughters, Jennifer Wildman (Darick) of Dothan, AL, Brooke Curry (David) of Geneva, AL; one step-son, Jacob Helms of Bonifay, FL; one sister, Paula Spann of Panama City, FL; one niece, Emily Maines (Bill) of Hampton, VA; one nephew, Whit Majors of Panama City, FL; two great nieces, Mackenzie and Madison Maines of Hampton, VA; two aunts, Barbara Pinkard of Prattville, AL and Patricia Wise (Norman) of Samson, AL; one uncle, Ronald Smith (Wavine) of Leonia, FL; her loyal dog, Ritz and a host of extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice, especially Debbie, for their care and compassion shown to Linda.
