By | December 15, 2022

Doctor Jefferson Welsch Swindle went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Jeff “Doc” Swindle was born on February 13,1948, in Bonifay, Florida, to Jesse C. and Jane Swindle. He graduated from Holmes County High School in 1966. After graduating from high school, he went to Chipola College, then transferred to the University of Florida. He was admitted early to the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and graduated from dental school in 1973.

Upon his graduation, Jeff served in the Air Force Dental Corps from 1973-1975. It was there he met his bride Eileen whom he wed in Biloxi, Mississippi, on April 3, 1976. They were married for forty-six years. Together, they had two daughters, Sarah and Jordan.
Jeff returned to Bonifay in 1975 and began practicing dentistry. He faithfully served his community as a dentist for forty-seven years.

There was no one like Jeff Swindle. He is remembered by friends and family as a kind and gentle man who loved to serve people of all ages. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. He loved to try new things. He learned to play the upright bass in his forties and rode motorcycles. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed making meals for others. He was a gifted musician who played the piano and was a master organist.

Jeff enjoyed friends of all ages. He loved deep conversations with others. Jeff ministered to young people by teaching 2nd-5th grade boys in small groups at church and leading Bible studies for young men. He was an encourager who believed in the best in others and wanted to see those around him succeed. Whenever Jeff learned about a need in the community, he worked hard to help meet that need. He participated in many service projects with his church, Rivertown Community Church.

The most important thing to Jeff was his faith. He loved Jesus and loved talking about Jesus with others. His deepest desire was to see everyone around him know Jesus as he did. Jeff said, “There is no way I can separate my life from my Savior’s… He is my motivation. He is my life. He solves my problems. He leads my life. I long for the coming of my Lord.”

On December 14, the longing of Jeff’s heart was fulfilled when he finally met his Savior in person.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents Jesse C. and Jane Swindle and his grandson Henry White.

Jeff is survived by his wife Eileen Swindle, his daughter Sarah White and husband Josh, daughter Jordan Dady and husband Donnie, grandchildren Harper, Andrew, and Mary Grace White and Darby and Hattie Dady. Jeff is also survived by his sister Jenny Colletti and brother Jake Swindle and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
