Notice is hereby given to all interested persons or firms that sealed bids, submitted in triplicate, will be accepted by the City of Chipley, located at the Chipley City Hall, 1442 Jackson Avenue, Chipley, Florida 32428, until 2:00 p.m., local time on January 18, 2023.
Bids will be opened in the Meeting Room in the City of Chipley City Hall located at 1442 Jackson Avenue, Chipley, Florida 32428 at 3:00 p.m., local time on, January 18, 2023.
Description of Work:
1) City Hall – installing 19 removable flood barriers at the entryways, to include the ground level storefront glass areas, to help prevent future water intrusion to the interior of the building. Also concrete alterations around the building openings may be necessary to support the flood barriers. Elevation of exterior HVAC units to above the storms high water level, and two concrete pedestals.
2) Library – installing 8 removable flood barriers at the exterior doors to prevent water infiltration. Also concrete alterations around the building openings may be necessary to support flood barriers.
Cosmetic alterations must be approved by the city prior to work being done. Bidder is responsible for site inspection, for verification of field measurements and/or building existing conditions, supervision of installation by others, and inspection training after installation completed by others (includes written deployment plan) to ensure bid is accurate.

IMPORTANT: Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope marked: “City of Chipley City Hall & Library Mitigation Project” and identified by the Name of the Company, Name and Number of the Bid, along with the Date and Time of Opening. Bids will be received by either hand delivery to the City Clerk’s Office located at 1442 Jackson Avenue, Chipley, Florida or by mail at City of Chipley, Attention: City Clerk’s Office, Post Office Box 1007, Chipley, Florida 32428 by the Bid closing deadline. Late submittals received after the aforementioned deadline date, either by mail or otherwise, will not be considered and will be returned unopened. The time of receipt will be determined by the time received in the City of Chipley City Hall – City Clerk’s Office. It is the sole responsibility of the vendor for assuring that the bid is received in the City Clerk’s Office by the designated date and time. No faxed, electronic or oral bids will be accepted.
SPECIAL NOTE:
The City requires a business license tax be paid for the privilege of engaging in any business within the city limits. Please contact the City Clerk’s Office for a fee schedule.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids.
The City of Chipley reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids.
