Washington County, Florida Emergency Services Advise of Traffic Disruption of State Roads in Washington and Holmes Counties

Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Washington and Holmes counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.

Washington County:

  • U.S. 90 Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade in Chipley – Drivers may encounter a road closure from Railroad Drive to Church Avenue, south on State Road (S.R.) 77, west on U.S. 90, and north on Dalton Street Monday, Jan. 16 for the Martin Luther King Day Parade.
  • S.R. 77 Resurfacing from Brickyard Road to South Boulevard – Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures and shifts during sidewalk construction as equipment and workers enter and exit the roadway.

Holmes County:

  • U.S. 90 Resurfacing from the End of the Four Lane to the Washington County Line – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, Jan. 16 through Friday, Jan. 20 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for paving operations.
  • Thomas Drive Bridge Replacement Over Open Creek – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures just east of S.R. 79 Tuesday, Jan. 17 through Friday, Jan. 20 for construction activities.

All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
