The Florida Panhandle might expect damaging winds and a heightened risk of tornadoes during midweek.
A low–pressure system near the Four Corners region of the Southwestern U.S. is forecast to become better organized over the next 24 hours, bringing the potential for severe storms along the Texas Gulf Coast and heavy snow in the North Texas Panhandle.
On Tuesday night into Wednesday, a warm front is expected to move towards the Florida Panhandle as the low pressure system moves away from the High Plains and towards the Lower Mississippi River Valley. This warm and unstable environment could result in strong and severe thunderstorms.
Cool temperatures are expected to move into the Panhandle this week as a result of northwesterly winds behind a cold front. High temperatures are expected to drop into the 50s on Thursday and Friday, while lows could fall into the 30s Wednesday night through Friday night, leading to possible frost and freeze alerts. Although this cooldown is expected to be short–lived, temperatures are projected to recover by the end of the weekend.
