According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a car ran off a road and hit a tree in Jackson County, resulting in the death of a child and the hospitalization of three others at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The car crashed into a large tree after inexplicably swerving off the road and through a ditch.
The driver and passengers were reported to have had their seatbelts or child restraints on, and their families have been informed.
The car containing a driver and three passengers was traveling westward on U.S. Highway 90 in Jackson County close to Harner Lane, according to troopers.
