Retail Pharmacies Apply for Certification to Dispense Dangerous Chemical Abortion Drugs

By | February 1, 2023

After the FDA allowed retail pharmacies to dispense chemical abortion drugs with a prescription, the biggest pharmacy businesses rapidly applied for certification.

CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid have applied to the FDA to sell the mifepristonemisoprostol drug combo, which terminates pregnancies and expels fetuses, often into toilets.

Walmart, whose pharmacy revenues rank fifth nationally, has not yielded to abortion advocates pressure. Americans can be sure that Walmart is a safe place to buy their prescriptions, unconnected to the abortion industry.

National businesses have yet to decide if they will convert their pharmacies into abortion facilities.

Mary Szoch, director of FRC‘s Center for Human Dignity, said CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid have all become abortion facilities.

Walmart can become the preferred pharmacy for Americans by continuing their current practices.

Shawn Carney, president and CEO of 40 Days for Life, noted that while their campaigns were previously focused solely on abortion facilities, CVS and Walgreens now also offer abortion pills via drivethrough windows, making it as convenient to get an abortion as to get a Big Mac.

Walmart can avoid being drawn into the abortion debate by refraining from dispensing chemical abortion drugs. This would prevent Walmart stores from facing prolife protests and enable them to remain neutral and acceptable to all Americans.
