Elisabeth Anne Girgenti Maphet was called home on February 2, 2023, and is now with the Lord and her beloved departed son Jason Maphet.
A longtime resident of Chipley, FL, Elisabeth leaves behind her husband Paul Maphet, whom she has been married to for 48 years, her daughter and best friend Robyn Maphet, future son-in-law William Feagley, her brother James Girgenti of Beach Haven West, New Jersey and many nieces and nephews.
The apple of her eye was her three-year-old grandson, Wyatt William Feagley, who she adored beyond measure.
Elisabeth lived to brag and dote on Wyatt, who will be forever reminded of what an amazing grandma he had. Elisabeth loved her family fiercely both near and far.
Elisabeth was so much more than a loving wife, an amazing mom and the world’s best grandma; she was a living angel put here on Earth.
There was always a seat at her table for her children’s friends whom she loved like her own.
Those who knew her are better people because of her. Her smile and personality lit up any room she entered, and her devotion to her family was unmatched. She set an example as a selfless woman who put everyone else’s needs before her own.
She prided herself on being Italian and remained a devout Catholic throughout her life.
Elisabeth Anne was born in Newark, New Jersey, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Girgenti, and sister of the late John Girgenti, Jr.
She grew up in Newark and East Orange, New Jersey where she made countless memories with friends and continued to keep in touch with them to this day.
She met her husband Paul Maphet on New Year’s Eve 1973 and was married five months later in May of 1974.
