Carl Stanley Fuller, 82 of Chipley, Florida Passes on February 7, 2023

Carl Stanley Fuller passed away February 7, 2023, at his home in Chipley, Florida.
 
Born to Lillie and Carl Watson Fuller September 28, 1940 in Birmingham, AL, Stan had retired to Panama City Beach, FL and had previously resided in Birmingham, AL, Marietta, GA and Mobile, AL.
 
Husband to Miriam Duncan Fuller for 63 years; father of Mark Stephen Fuller (Rachel Attyah Fuller) Papa to Stephen Elias Fuller; father of Kimberly Fuller Knight (William “Bubba” Knight) Papa to Nicole Knight Peavy (Marlon Travis Peavy), great grand Papa to Lesleigh Ann & Logan Elliott Peavy and Papa to Bethany Jae Knight; brother of Virginia Brooks of Franklin, TN and numerous nieces and nephews.
Stan was preceded by his parents Carl Watson and Lillie Sheffield Fuller and his brother David Stephen Fuller all of Birmingham.
 
During his Birmingham days Stan was the beloved church choir director where he and Miriam were pseudo parents to many young choir members.
 
Stan loved all music genres, from Gloria, played for the grand kids, to Alabama, to Handles Messiah, the Mamas and Papas, the Hallelujah Chorus, Elvis or even Celine Dion.
 
He worked 40 years for Siemens (Westinghouse) Engineering Services in Birmingham, Atlanta, Mobile before retiring as engineering manager for the Birmingham operation.
 
A renaissance man believing in the sanctity of family, considering himself a son of Abraham, he operated as a strong loving head of the household.
 
Possessing a vivid imagination he entertained his children with stories of Pixie, Dixie, and Sam and their adventures of the Black Forest of Germany and the Munchkin houses at the old brick kiln.
 
Later on he loved regaling his grandchildren with tales of Rodney the Rat hiding under the couch or Rickey the Raccoon and the pygmies living in the basement.
 
The patriarch of the Fuller family, a great man and example, now resides with the Lord.
 
A memorial will be held Saturday February 11, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Chipley.
 
A second memorial is planned in his hometown of Birmingham, AL in March with details to follow.
