On Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, around 2:00 a.m., a deputy was conducting business checks in Greenwood when he heard several gunshots.
The deputy immediately saw a white Kia sedan leaving the area the gunshots were heard from, and this was the only vehicle on the road at the time the shots were fired.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and saw a spent shell casing on the trunk area of the vehicle.
Throughout the course of the investigation, a magazine, live rounds of ammunition and a gun were located inside the car.
The passenger of the car, Bilal M. Lewis, said he was the one that fired the gun from the vehicle while it was traveling down the road.
Lewis was also found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Bilal M. Lewis was arrested and charged with Discharging a Firearm in Public and Use of a Firearm while Under the Influence of Alcohol.
