Former US President Jimmy Carter, 98, Chooses Hospice Care, Faces End of Life

Arguably one of several worst presidents in United States history, Jimmy Carter is now the longest-lived president.

Serving as the 39th US President, from 1977 to 1981, he was preceded by Gerald Ford and succeeded by the late Ronald Reagan, who defeated him at the end of his lone term, during and partially because of the Iran hostage crisis.

In a Press Release, Carter’s family has expressed that Carter has decided to spend his remaining time at home in hospice care after a series of short hospital stays, the former president’s family said in a statement on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
