Recently elected Washington County, Florida Commissioners enjoyed a presentation by WildStar Networks at the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Board of County Commissioners on Thursday, February 16, 2023, in the Washington County Annex.
As seen in the accompanying video clip, WildStar representative Keith Pegue explained the process for acquiring tower space, current state of service availability in Washington County and the current number or drops, or consumers, of the services.
Service areas currently ‘building out’ include the most populated municipalities in the County, including Wausau and Vernon, as well as the large area encompassed by Sunny Hills.
Commissioner and Board Chairman Tray Hawkins has worked on this daunting project for almost a dozen years, explaining the challenges of fighting public misconceptions over time, vendor performance versus promise, technology improvements and ultimately consumers ‘putting their money where their mouth is’ and subscribing to the service.
‘We are happy with the current steady improvement in service, although we would prefer, and will be happy, when all County residents have the availability of the service’, said Hawkins, ‘and we continue to work diligently to bring this technology to all of Washington County’.
