Robert H. Newsome Jr. went home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2023, at his son’s home surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born on September 6, 1944, in Pensacola, Florida to Robert H. Newsome Sr, and Mary Elizabeth Holley. He had been a resident of the Florida Panhandle since 2008 coming from Clermont, Florida and was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Chipley, Florida. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Mary Newsome; wife: Ruby Y. Newsome; sister: Linda Rhodes
He is survived by his sons: Robert W. Newsome of Graceville, FL, Edward Dale Newsome of Graceville, FL; daughters: Tinnie Elizabeth Campos of Groveland, FL, Donna Marie Thompson (Quinton) of Webster, FL, Rhonda Lee Cook of Clermont, FL; sisters: Lizzie Mae Rathel of Chipley, FL, Wanda Jordan of Groveland, FL, Barbara Smith (Wayne) of Graceville, Florida, Christine Newsome of Alabama; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.
Service will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Church of God of Prophecy in Chipley, Florida will Bro. Ernie Dupree and Bro. Joe Ernest officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley, Florida. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
