Leonard Felton Miller, age 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 14, 2023.
He was born December 31, 1940, to the late Leonard Miller and Vera Magaline Forehand Miller.
In addition to his parents, Felton was preceded in death by one son, James Gregory Miller.
Felton served as class president for the class of 1960 at Bethlehem High School.
After graduating, he served in the United States Air Force.
Felton worked many years owning and operating his business, M&M Welding Supply.
He also proudly served his community in many capacities. He was elected Holmes County Commissioner (1976-1984), served on Tri County Community Council, Holmes County Development Commission, and participated in acquiring grants for the current Holmes County Health Department facility. He was also elected as a Holmes County School Board Member (1985-1994) where he played an integral part in the planning construction for the current Holmes County High School and Bethlehem High School. Felton enjoyed serving the community and the people of Holmes County. His mission was to make the lives others better and provide young people with opportunities.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ruby Miller of Bonifay, FL; three children, Joey Miller and wife Kay Dickinson, Pam Godwin and husband Fritz Godwin, and Rocky Miller all of Bonifay, FL; six grandchildren, Brayden Godwin and husband Cory, Holly James and husband Ryder, Jesse Godwin and wife Erica, Kellyn Godwin, Logan Miller, and Morgan Miller; six great-grandchildren, Cohen Godwin, Sophia Godwin, Bentley James, Brennan James, Henley Phillips, and Blakelynn Godwin; two siblings, Royce Miller and wife Gene of Bonifay, FL and Sarah McWaters and husband Rick of Freeport, FL; several nieces and nephews.
The family appreciates all nurses and staff at both Emerald Coast Hospice and Hawkins Family Medicine for the care provided.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 18, 2023, in the Peel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley Adams officiating.
Interment will follow in the Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday at Peel Funeral Home.
