Washington County Sheriff’s deputies arrested four individuals after a traffic stop yields a large amount of cash, drugs and two handguns.
Just after 9 p.m., Monday evening, deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle near the intersection of State Rd. 79 and Douglas Ferry Rd. During the stop, deputies made contact with the driver identified as 19-year-old, JaTavious Deontae Hicks, who stated they were traveling to Panama City. As deputies spoke with Hicks, they detected the odor of narcotics coming from inside the vehicle. Hicks and three passengers were asked to exit the vehicle. Once removed, a search was conducted and resulted in the discovery of over 4 ounces of marijuana, more than $7500 in cash and two handguns.
All occupants of the vehicle were arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.
Hicks, two counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of a weapon in the commission of a felony.
A passenger in the vehicle, 18-year-old, Jhordon D’Metrion Madden, two counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Two, 17-year-old, black male juveniles, were also taken into custody on charges of two counts possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
