Washington County Sheriff’s Office has amped up area patrols during the weeks of the 2023 Spring Break season to enforce motorist safety.
Deputies began the heightened patrols, warning drivers to take it slow but more often those traffic stops have led to felony drug arrests.
A couple Georgia residents are behind bars and facing drug-related charges after deputies observe a vehicle traveling more than 20 mph over the posted speed limit.
Around 1 a.m., on April 6th, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies initiated a traffic stop near State Rd. 79 and Moss Hill Rd. in Vernon.
As deputies make contact with the subjects in the vehicle, they detected the odor of narcotics coming from inside the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old, Ryan Ewald To, and the passenger, 23-year-old, Annabel Digrado being taken into custody after deputies locate illegal drugs, a firearm and a digital scale.
Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail.
