Edward ‘Ed’ Heardman Barton, Jr., age 94, of Bonifay, Florida passed away April 6, 2023, at Bonifay Nursing and Rehab Center in Bonifay, Florida.
He was born May 15, 1928, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Edward Heardman Barton, Sr. and Margaret Lehner Barton.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded by his loving wife, Mildred Betty Barton, two sons, Edward H. Barton, III and Gary Barton, and three sisters, Beverly Barton, Betty Shenton, and Jeanette Joy.
Mr. Barton is survived by one son, Greg Barton and wife Lisa of FL; one daughter, Colleen Raber of TN; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Barton of MD; one sister, Shirlie Ward of MD; seven grandchildren, Justin Barton, Ryan Dean, Christina Barton Lowman and husband Harry, Edward H. Barton, IV and wife Tammy, Dale Goodson, II, Elizabeth Brown, and Kenneth Barton; six great-grandchildren, Carson Lowman, Kyle Lowman, Alexis Barton, Skylar Barton, Summer Barton, and Isabelle Dean; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in the Peel Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow in the St. John Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 AM at Peel Funeral Home.
