James Earl Taylor, 81, of Chipley, Florida went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2023 at Bonifay Nursing and Rehab Center.
James was born on April 3, 1942 in Greenhead, Florida to Ellis Taylor and Essie White. A lifelong resident of the Florida Panhandle and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Chipley, Florida.
He retired from the Florida Highway Patrol and Served in the United States Army National Guard. Most of all, he loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ellis and Essie Taylor; brother: Charles Ellsworth Taylor.
He is survived by his loving wife: Dana Taylor of Chipley,FL; sons: James Taylor of Ozark, AL, Robert Taylor of West Bay, FL, Steve and David Whittington of Chipley, FL; daughters: Judi Ault of Pensacola, FL; Lawanda Higginbothem of Milton, FL, Melissa Arthur of Navarre, FL; sisters: Betty O’Brien of Panama City, FL, Grace Anderson of Oviedo, FL; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, April 11,2023 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Chipley, Florida with Bro. Tim Brigham officiating.
Interment will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church cemetery. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
