Active Weather Pattern Expected to Impact Northwest Florida on Saturday and Sunday, April 15 & 16, 2023

By | April 14, 2023

An active weather pattern is expected to impact the area this weekend beginning on Saturday.

The main focus is on Sunday where the Storm Prediction Center has issued a Slight Risk of severe storms over our GA counties with all of our other AL and FL counties included in a Marginal Risk.

Overview:

A cluster of thunderstorms will affect much of the area this Saturday afternoon into the evening hours.

While it is currently expected to remain sub-severe, lightning appears possible and will pose a threat to those who are outdoors.

On Sunday, a line of storms associated with a cold front will move into the area in the afternoon to evening hours with wind and hail as the main threats.

The highest probability of severe will be within our SW GA counties, however scattered severe still appears likely within our FL and AL counties. Confidence is Medium.

Alternate Possibilities:

If the storms hang around for longer than expected on Saturday, this could directly impact the caliber of severe weather on Sunday hence the medium confidence.

We will continue to monitor and update as needed.
