Lonnie Franklin Sellers, 70 of Chipley, Florida Passes on April 18, 2023

Lonnie Franklin Sellers, age 70, of Chipley, Florida passed away peacefully at his home April 18, 2023.
 
He was a longtime resident of West Bay, Florida, then later moved to Chipley, Florida.
 
Lonnie was born and raised in Caryville, Florida where he lived with his grandparents, Willie and Lois Sellers.
 
At the age of eighteen he joined the Army National Guard where he served for six years. On September 1, 1983, Lonnie went to work for the Bay County Sheriff Department as a deputy for Sheriff Lavelle Pitts where he worked for 30 years until retiring as a Sergeant under Sheriff Frank McKeithen on March 31, 2012.
 
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and vacationing in the mountains of Tennessee. He loved playing his guitar and singing gospel music at various events.
 
Lonnie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Angie Sellers, his children, Mike Sellers and wife Regina of Bonifay, FL, Dianna Sellers of Panama City, FL, and Jenny Sellers of Chipley, FL, and his mother-in-law, Elaine Stafford of Westville, FL. His memory will live on in his five grandchildren, Mitchell, Madison and husband Will, Mason, Natalie, and Rebecca, one great-granddaughter, Saylor, one sister, Judy Carnley and husband Gene of Cleveland, TN, two sisters-in-law, Kathy Tucker and husband Robbie of Panama City, FL and Mary Holley and husband Danny of West Bay, FL, as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
 
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Lomis and Katherine Sellers, his brother, Kenneth Sellers, his loving grandparents, Willie and Lois Sellers, and childhood friend and brother-in-law, Hulon Carnley.
 
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Peel Funeral Home in Bonifay, Florida.
 
Funeral services for Lonnie will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 20, 2023, in the Peel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Williamson officiating.
 
Interment with Bay County Sheriff Honor Guard will follow in the Sellers Cemetery. Peel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
