A Cairo, GA man is in custody in Washington County after deputies locate a stolen gun during a traffic stop.
On April 22nd, at approximately 9:45 p.m., deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office conducted at traffic stop on State Rd. 79 near Moss Hill Rd. During the stop, deputies smell the odor of narcotics coming from inside the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in deputies locating a box of ammo and a firearm which was found to be stolen out of Thomasville, GA.
19-year-old, Tariq Rashad Davis was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and carrying a concealed firearm.
