Jackson County, Florida Times Decries Rumors of Publix, Along With Cracker Barrel, Texas Roadhouse, Applebee’s and Longhorn

By | May 4, 2023
Dispelling rumors to the contrary, Shelia Mader (in a public Facebook post) reported:

The Jackson County Times has received more calls, texts, emails, walk-in roving reporters concerning a
Publix Supermarket coming to Jackson County.

The TIMES has followed all leads, has been in contact with the Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Council and they report they have nothing confirmed about a Publix coming to Jackson County.

This includes the purchase of land near Chick-fil-A and the pulling of a permit by Publix.

The TIMES went a step further and contacted the Jackson County Property Appraiser’s Office and they advise they have NO property deeded to Publix in Jackson County.

In reference to other rumors going through the Jackson County Rumor Mill, we have no confirmation on a Cracker Barrell (sic), Texas Roadhouse, Applebee’s or LongHorn Restaurants. The TIMES will stay on top of this and future rumors or leads as they are brought to our attention.

Until then, everyone can shop/eat local with all that we have available, keeping those businesses’ doors open and employees with a paycheck.

However, Hardee’s is reopening on Highway 90, also per Shelia Mader:

The long-awaited news is out of the bag – Hardee’s will reopen at its Highway 90 location Thursday, May 11.

We spoke with Denise Meeks from Hardee’s Thursday morning and it’s full speed ahead.

They want to welcome all their customers to return for their favorite meals, coffee or beverages.

They also welcome new customers to give them a try in their newly renovated facility.

This location of Hardee’s has been closed since July 19, 2022 when it was heavily damaged by fire.

The restaurant was home to numerous small groups who became regulars to the staff there.

The groups started as early as 5:30 in the morning and continued until the 9:00 group was all caught up on the day’s events.

They began again during the lunch hours and concluded with an evening group that caught everyone up on the day’s events.

They will be open seven days a week – Monday through Saturday 5:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. and Sunday 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
