Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal hit-and-run on State Highway 20 in Freeport.
Just before 3AM this morning, Walton Sheriff’s Office deputies, Walton County Fire Rescue, Florida, and Florida Highway Patrol responded to a hit-and-run on Highway 20 just west of County Highway 83A E that left one pedestrian dead.
Initial reports indicated a pedestrian was walking home from work on the westbound side of Highway 20 when they were struck by a vehicle.
After the crash, the driver fled westbound on Highway 20.
The suspect vehicle is believed to be a black Nissan Titan with damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.
