Widespread showers and storms will develop on Thursday, May 11, 2023 afternoon and a few storms could possibly be severe during the afternoon hours.
Greater instability is forecast to develop across the area on Thursday which will lead to better coverage of showers and thunderstorms.
Given the larger instability, isolated severe storms are possible across the area.
The main concerns will be a few damaging wind gusts and possibly hail up to quarter-size in the strongest storms.
Low wind shear across the area on Thursday will keep the tornado threat very low.
The severe threat will be greatest during the afternoon hours and begin to diminish after sunset with the severe threat wrapping up completely before midnight.
