The Washington County, Florida Library recently partnered with the Washington County Health Department in a cooperative effort to assist young families and parents to connect with their children in an organic, old-fashioned and fun way.
The effort stems from trying to get rid of some of the electronic clutter in families and promote a fun and healthy outdoor environment in which to learn.
The Born Learning Trail is a series of 10 interactive signs that offer fun, active learning activities for young children and their families, a seen here in images captured by Digital Photography Technology students at Florida Panhandle Technical College.
There will be a ribbon-cutting for the facility on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 10:30AM in the Washington County, Florida Public Library parking lot on Hwy 90 in downtown Chipley, and the public is invited.
The Video Technology Program at Florida Panhandle Technical College has partnered with the library to create an awareness campaign to help provide promulgation of the learning facilities.
The design helps parents, caregivers and communities create quality engagement opportunities when out on a stroll or visiting a local playground.
Signs are available in English and Spanish and translations can also be made to most other languages.
There is a need for additional partnerships, to enable to construction and implementation of additional sites for the learning tools.
The trail can be ordered as a kit and includes instructions, hardware, and reinforced, full-color metal signs.
Building materials and muscle can be locally sourced – installation days are great volunteer events.
Signs include the option to have special messaging, including sponsor names, company logos, or other investor recognition.
