A Jasper, AL man is in custody after a suspicious person call is reported to WCSO telecommunications center.
On Sunday, May 14th, WCSO received a call in reference to a suspicious person on the side of State Rd 79.
Deputies respond to find a male subject sitting on the northbound right of way.
The subject stated he was in route from Panama City and was taking a break from his travels.
A brief search of his information revealed the subject, 39-year-old, Arthur Uptain had an active warrant out of Bay County for robbery with a deadly weapon and grand theft.
Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office quickly apprehended Uptain and transported him to the Washington County Jail where he awaits extradition to Bay County for the charges.
