A Washington County resident has been arrested on burglary charges.
On May 15, 2023, WCSO deputies responded to a call reporting firearms were stolen from a residence on Brackin Road.
Upon arrival it was determined that multiple firearms, valued in excess of $3000, were removed from the residence.
WCSO Investigators began conducting an investigation that developed a suspect very early on. With the help of a home surveillance system, it revealed the suspect pried the door open, went inside the home and exited a short time later with several firearms.
A concerned Washington County resident noticed a suspicious person in the area prior to and after the burglary riding a bicycle and made a call to WCSO.
The suspect was identified and detained for questioning. During the suspects’ interview a confession was given and information pertaining to the location of the firearms was revealed.
Phillip Dale Adkins, a 35-year-old white male, of Bethel Rd, was arrested and charged with burglary while armed, felony possession of a firearm, dealing in stolen property, unlawful use of two-way communication device and grand theft of firearms.
With the assistance of Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, all stolen firearms have been recovered.
