A burglary reported at the Vernon, Florida Sportsplex resulted in one arrest on May 25, 2023.
On May 5, 2023, a call in reference to a burglary at the Vernon Sportsplex came into the Washington County Communications Center.
Workers from the Sportsplex noticed a door open and a cash box empty upon arrival.
The Sportsplex surveillance system had also been shut off during the burglary but not before footage of the suspect and vehicle were recorded.
With the assistance of a Washington County resident, investigators began to follow up on leads which lead them to 20-year-old Duncan Reddick Bray of Chipley.
Bray was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, damaging property due to criminal mischief and petit theft.
