On June 6, 2023, deputies with the Holmes County, Florida Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on Hwy 79 south of Esto.
Contact was made with driver Michael Williams, and passenger Tara Retell, both of Bonifay.
During the stop, deputies obtained consent to search from both Williams and Retell.
Williams gave deputies a metal container with methamphetamine residue inside.
A subsequent search also produced a small baggie of methamphetamine, of which Retell claimed ownership.
Both individuals were arrested and transported to the Holmes County Jail.
Michael Williams is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Tara Retell is charged with possession of methamphetamine.
