On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at approximately 1:17 am, officers were patrolling the Gibbs Apartment Complex.
Officer observed Christopher Beavers enter an apartment and gained consent to check the apartment for his presence from the tenant.
Beavers has an active warrant out of Jackson County Florida for theft.
Beavers was located on the back-patio area with a clear plastic bag in his hand, which appeared to contain a small amount of illicit substance.
Beavers immediately took flight on foot and failed to comply with officers’ lawful verbal commands. Beavers ran behind all apartment buildings and out to Milton Avenue.
Beavers then ran around a residence before coming back out to Milton Avenue and running South.
After this short foot pursuit, Beavers was detained in cuffs without incident.
Beavers was observed to still have this bag in his left hand.
Beavers’ hand was pried open to reveal a clear plastic bag containing a clear powdery substance.
Officers field tested the substance to determine which chemicals were present in the substance.
The field test yielded a positive response for the presence of Alpha PIHP, commonly referred to as “Flakka” or “Molly”.
Beavers is being charged with resisting an Officer without Violence and Possession of Alpha PIHP.
