On Wednesday, June 21, 2023, the Greenhead, Florida Volunteer Fire Department and other volunteers from Washington County responded to a fully involved shed fire on Moss Hill Road near the prison that was endangering the adjacent home.
Lightning struck a nearby tree, and then zapped the shed as well, as seen in these contributed photos.
The shed was a total loss, and siding on the home melted due to the heat, but quick response from the volunteer firefighters prevented the home from catching on fire.
Firefighters even worked inside the attic, ensuring that there was no fire in the home.
Great job saving the home, as well as helping the occupants with some of their other needs by those who provided assistance.
