The Greenhead, Florida Volunteer Fire Department issued a warning to motorists of unsafe road conditions and hazards on July 13, 2023, as seen below:
‘Reminder when driving in heavy rains: no zoomy zoom on the slicky slick, or you might end up in the ditchy ditch’.
‘Hydro-planing is scary: just ask the 2-3 drivers ahead of me midday today on Highway 77 near Bozeman school when the downpours hit’.
‘Motorists were experiencing poor visibility due to the heavy rains. A southbound pickup truck hydroplaned through the median, and into northbound traffic’.
‘Northbound traffic did an amazing job of driving defensively, narrowly avoiding the southbound pickup which had come to a stop facing south in the northbound lanes’.
‘Thankfully everyone drove away safely (although they were shaken up a bit)’.
