The Panama City Beach, Florida Police Department reports the arrest of three suspects, including Damien Marrell Chhoeung, Elijah Chhoeung, and Hunter Hatfield following the reckless discharge of a firearm which resulted in the gunshot wound to the leg of an 18-year-old tourist from Dallas, Texas, at Majestic Towers Resort on Saturday, July 15, 2023.
Reports show that Chhoeung was allegedly ‘recklessly’ playing with the firearm, which was dropped and discharged a round which struck the victim, who was transported to a local hospital and underwent surgery.
Arrested were Damien Marrell Chhoeung, 20, of Fayetteville, Georgia, charged with improper exhibition of a firearm, discharging a firearm in public, possession of cannabis, tampering with evidence, and firing a deadly missile; Elijah Chhoeung, 19, of Fayetteville, Ga., tampering with evidence; and Hunter Hatfield, 21, of Bruce, Miss., tampering with evidence.
