When hearing of the need for software at Florida Panhandle Technical College in the Digital Video Technology and Digital Photography programs last year, from FPTC Instructor Paul Goulding, then-Washington County School Board candidate Cheryl Williams immediately offered to purchase the software- as a matter of fact, offering to purchase multiple copies of the required programs, enabling students to complete the program in preparation for a well-paid career in photography, video production, radio or audio production and a variety of other fields.
This year, Goulding has expanded his program offering, now including Television Production Technology, a program which will allow students experience in television production, radio production, streaming video, podcasting, artificial intelligence, audio/video technology, responsible social media and basic marketing- ensuring several opportunities to become a taxpayer and to secure a well-paid career.
Contacting public figures and business owners again this year, Goulding explained that the technical college is experiencing a shortfall in funding, with several less-than-painless changes in procedures, presenting challenges to students and educators alike.
Stepping up and supporting technical education, now-Washington County School Board Member Cheryl Williams again immediately offered to purchase multiple copies of the software, enabling these new students to successfully complete the program in preparation for a well-paid career a variety of fields.
Participating for this second year, Williams has expressed her concern and love for Washington County students, as befits her position as an elected school district official.
When hearing of the need this year, Chipley, Florida City Councilman Tommy Sasser and Washington County, Florida Superintendent of Schools Joe Taylor both also immediately offered to purchase the software packages.
‘Thanks to these benefactors’, says Goulding, ‘Our students will have the opportunity to follow their dreams and career paths, successfully complete these technical programs, secure well-paid jobs and become taxpayers. Thanks to all of you’.
