The National Hurricane Center designated ‘Invest 95L’ on Friday, July 22, 2023, and gave the potential storm a 60% chance of development.
If the storm does develop, it will be named ‘Tropical Storm Emily’.
The storm has peak winds of 30 mph, and the National Hurricane Center has reported that the system is drifting north by northwest at about 3 mph.
The disturbance is expected to continue due west toward the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean.
