Calhoun County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Arrests Charlotte Critten for Reckless Driving, on July 23, 2023

On Sunday, July 23, 2023, at approximately 11:35AM, Deputy Baker was traveling westbound on SR 20, west of Melvin Grade.
 
He observed a black Chevrolet pickup traveling eastbound on SR 20 at a high rate of speed. Deputy Baker clocked her traveling at a speed of 97 mph.
 
Upon making a U-turn with blue lights and siren activated, he observed the black truck catching up to slower traffic, running up on cars and forcing one car onto the grass shoulder.
 
The black truck continued eastbound passing several cars on curves and double yellow lines.
 
The truck then passed 4 cars at Clarksville Post Office Drive and drove in the center median.
 
Upon approaching SR 73 South, the truck made a quick turn onto Demont Rd and turned into Dollar Store parking lot.
 
A female then jumped out and began to run into the Dollar Store yelling, “I’ve gotta go to the bathroom”.
 
She was identified as Charlotte Critten from Riverview, Florida.
 
In addition, an open alcoholic beverage was located in her vehicle.
 
Based on the facts, Deputy Baker found probable cause to arrest Critten for Reckless Driving in Violation of F.S.S. 316.192.
