In response to a sudden rise in COVID-19 infections, protective measures are back in place for residents, employees and visitors of many nursing homes across the nation.
The Department of Health and Human Services reports that more than 950 adults are hospitalized with COVID-19 in Florida, up 42% from seven weeks ago.
In some areas, immunity is waning, either from the last booster shot people have gotten, the last time they’ve been infected or the extreme heat.
This heat will drive people to do more indoors activities, where the spread of the virus occurs more easily.
